    From Wiki

"An early version of the game contained a smaller quantity of weapons and there were no discs in it and a bottle of vital energy. Instead of Sir Daniel bottles collected tokens symbolizing life. Deleted two levels and the Dragon Chase The Train Ride. Before the level of Inside the Asylum there is 30-second insertion FMV, which is not in the original version, even though the video is placed on the disc. At the level of The Asylum Grounds zombies are dressed in yellow."

Anyone know any information? it would be nice.

I am of course referring to versions of the PSX.

I have just bought a MediEvil beta that is about 10 months before the first release. I'll let you all know / Post the game here.

If it was compiled 10 months before final, then yes he most certantly is.

uhm...well he just bought the one I have in the marketplace, but this is NOT a Beta it most certainly 100% Retail. It's a Promotional Copy and not a Beta!

If you know you sold him a promo, and you know it's identical to retail (they are always), why did you ask if it's the thing you sold him knowing it isn't?

Well, because maybe HE didn't realize this and thinks it's an actual Beta (I didnt send it out, yet)?

(on the fact sheet that came with it, it says Sept. 1997 for some reason, that's be 13 months prior release...)

It appears you have misread, it doesn't say the disc is from September 1997. It clearly says 'London September 1997, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announced that games across europe will be introduced to the eagarly anticipated', it is basically introducing why they created the game in 1997 and released it October 1998. I recommend you read things fully before assuming it is the disc release date.

gawddammit, I know, I just wanted to point out that HE might misunderstood it!
I am aware that the disc is from 1998 as it says 1998 (you can't really see that on the pics), but he might misunderstood something here.
I just want to be sure that he doesnt buy something he doesn't want, because at this point I am still able to refund his money.

Or he maybe seriously found a Beta of the game. How about waiting for his reply :) ?

I really think he misunderstood sorry if your sale goes bad. It is unlikely to see something functional more than a year before final code.

Anyhow, I remember DRX selling some Medievil protos.

That's a shame but either way I'm getting an item that I'll like. I thought the paper was enough to know the date. But it would be like 9-10 months, the game was released in japan a couple of months before elsewhere.

These are all the Medievil builds which DRX has:

    Medievil .31
    Medievil .35 7/10
    Medievil II Reviewable ME2 0.51
    Medievil II ME2 0.51 reviewable

He's tested the ME1 builds but they seem to have some sort of protection which prevents a level from loading upon exit of the previous one. I've offered to pay for a dump of each of these but until the protection issue is sorted out, it's all at a standstill.

About the Japanese version of Medievil, though I have not played it myself, a key difference in the game is the ability to equip the helmet which isn't present in other releases.

Those builds are interesting. I think I'd be able to pay and actually be able to dump them as well.

Japanese versions are normally released after the final, they make alterations to the controls and gameplay just like in Tomb Raiders
