MD Everdrive - Official "game doesn't work" Thread

So I assume renaming to BIN should do the trick.

 

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the EverDrive does not care about the extension, it just cares about what is inside the file.

Yes and I'll say again, dumped roms are "tested" against emulators. Very rarely are rom sets tested against actual hardware. I wish they were, but they're not normally. That being said, it's pretty impressive that you can pop an Everdrive into a NTSC-U Genesis and play every game in the US/EU library save Virtua Racing and a couple other cricket games (if you take the time to search out the proper hacked roms). When this was released, there were a lot of holes to fill.

 

Provided you have the latest revision of motherboard (hint to what happened to me, stuck with a 2.3 )

Actually Cowering tries to verifies roms. Simply that's why we have [!] roms - dumped at least by two people with the same results and checked by Cowering against errors.

 

I don't have the Megakey version either, and the games still work. You just have to get a hacked rom for NTSC. I found them rather easily.

I think yes but but I don't know this for sure. I tried many games with [!] and all works. The problem is however with non licensed games (wrong detection by tototek and everdrive carts.)

 

No. Not all [!] roms work. Most do though.

I am having problems finding a phantasy star II rom that actually works. Can anyone help or tell me what I am doing wrong?

 

SO my guess is no one is having this problem? I am trying to get the one with proper English translation to work but I can't please if you know what's up please help me out.

 

I have tried also changing the format to .md and .smd but no luck there either. The game just blink and the screen stays black.

Yes I did. I honestly don't know what's up. Every other game up to this point has worked.:shrug:

 

OKay, So I went ahead and got my frimware upgrade along with the OS and well... Still nothing. I get a black screen and reset doesnt work. Also, my PCB doesnt seem to be compatible with hard reset. It's version 2.1...

 

probably you missunderstand hard reset function. hard reset it is not a back to menu by reset push, it is hardware clean before game start
