A good reason to delete a post is accidental double posting, which can happen because of inattention or slow internet.

On the other side of the fence, if posts are deleted by a member it can change the emphasis on a thread somewhat and the meaning of it too; however moderators need to delete undesirable posts on a site; eg spammers or flamers. As you say though, you can easily just edit your post you want to delete and put something like "post deleted" in its place, not an issue.

It's not a "missing feature" - it's deliberately switched off. ASSEMbler doesn't want people editing their messages.

If people think before they submit a post, there should be no reason to delete it ;)

The forum should have protection to prevent accidental reposting of the same post.

Is it possible though to change the title of a thread? For example, my project worklog thread i'd like to change to the name of the system, when i've decided a name for it. Can that be done, or if we want that, would a moderator be able to do it?

As has always been the case, PM a mod if you want a thread title changed, yes.

I used to be able to bookmark New (or was it Active) Posts. Used to be able to go directly to new posts of the day. Now the link will only remember on the day I bookmarked it. :(

Thankyou for keeping the older layout option (at the bottom button) with Sonic, so much easier to read. Plus it keeps Assembler different from Digital Press.

RECENT POSTS on the far right should be included in the Blue Bar to read the most current Threads including a just entered own Reply. One has to first click New Posts to see the Recent Posts in order to click the link!

New Posts works fine for me.... and Recent Posts IS New Posts! The reason it's there is to change New Posts to New Media or New Profile Posts - both fairly pointless.

They are similar. However, until someone adds to my Reply, the thread was still buried as if not the newest post yet. I had to search the the Forum to find the Thread again.

Weird that Recent Posts is the only way to see a Thread move to the top when I just created the newest post. I did see the Thread bump to the top under View New Posts once you posted a Reply.

A quirk in the system that does not allow one to see their own reply as the Newest Post unless viewed by Recent Posts?

    EDIT
Okay now it is buried as if no longer a new Post after I added my Reply; not even showing on the first page of New Posts! Only view Recent Posts brings it back to the front page of new posts again if one has the most recent reply in a given Thread.

I'm not really sure what you're expecting - sorry. New Posts shows you the newest posts. In other words:

A thread (last post made 5 mins ago)
Some other thread (last post made 10 mins ago)
Yet another thread (last post made 1 hour ago)

Have you turned your alerts off? THAT is where you follow posts that YOU have posted in personally. Make sure you watch the thread (it's on by default) and that you have alerts on for that. Then you'll get:

Never gonna happen. It's terrible on Xenforo and completely pointless now the site is responsive.

Avatars being 120x150, 100x125, or 110x140 would be neat.

I can't search for "wii" or "wii u" because it's "too short" of a search term.

I guess I can put my theme suggestion here :)

How about a theme that looks like code in a compiler? Basically something that looks like you are working so that when your boss decides to walk around, he won't be able to really tell the difference between this and perhaps a Unix interface.

That's an interesting idea, although I believe it would require a lot of work. Basically a text mode version of the site, with images as mouse over overlays or something!

If you're looking at stuff you shouldn't be looking at on company time and know your boss wouldn't approve, quit looking at stuff you shouldn't from work!

...or at least get one of those foot switch things! :p

I don't "work" per say, student and stuff, but it'd still like a text based theme just for the sake of it. Also, sometime less is more. That's why I like the new theme, contrary to some other users. Also why I use vim I guess.

The only time I was uneasy to surf AG in my office was when it had a big Sonic doing a thumbs up in the logo... Felt a bit childish. Pictures of pcbs are fine :p

But why is that? Is there no option to make it so that we can change the title ourselves?

Did you mean 'delete'? I'm sure many people make typos or would like to add to their posts.
