I didn't doubt legitimacy, I just wish there was a slight more information in the OP explaining what it was.
This game was dumped but not released; it was being sold as repro carts for years. I've heard of several people having one and someone tried dumping it with one of those things that you can put SNES/MD carts into and read them, but those devices could not read this card. I was in talks with a guy about dumping it (two of them even), but the cart used a SANYO LE28DW3218AM chip. I couldn't find any info on this so I couldn't guarantee that I could dump it (or that it would remain operational after me tinkering with it), and the owner did not want to risk the cart, so nothing came out of it. Good to see that it finally got dumped though.
This game never really got any attention. Even after RetroQuest released their repro of it, no one seemed to care. Which always surprised and bothered me considering how popular unreleased/undumped prototypes are these days. I finally got a copy last week and decided to try and dump it. I used an SF7 to dump it onto 3 floppies, Ucon64 to join those files and SNESPurify to clean the header and make it a .sfc file. I guess I could have put all this info into the first post but......
can you tell me: * if it is a good (i.e. no-intro standard) dump * when it was dumped * what the original cart looked like * what the repro looked like * if the repro was accurate
Sorry I do not have the answer to most of those question. The repro was by RetroQuest, labeled proto/proto. The manual was different from their production run, the quality of the labels and manual were sub par.
I would suspect that the original binary was acquired from one of the developers of the game, rather than being from a prototype cart. I also do not suspect that they tampered with the binary for the bootleg, though I have acquired one of my own to test that idea. Should get it soon.
The ROM header was invalid, here is a fixed version with proper ROM header http://uploaded.net/file/k5icfle0
