Whilst browsing western news sites, I sometimes come across articles about Japanese culture (mostly work / office related). The article I was reading today was about inemuri (http://www.theguardian.com/cities/2015/jul/07/urban-nap-stigma-snoozing-stay-awake-work)

I find articles like these really interesting, and was wondering if there's any good books / blogs out there that detail how Japanese culture differs from the west? I'm sure there are many, but would be good to hear from anyone whose read something particularly good

We went on Honeymoon there last October and bought a book called "A Geek in Japan". It's written by a Spanish guy who lived over there and kept a blog.

Blog wise, I read the Japan Sub Culture Research Centre, which focuses on crime, politics and alternative culture. And Metropolis Magazine, which is a bit like The Independent or Times Sunday culture sections for Tokyo

I actually just finished interning for Japan Travel, a sub-company of Metropolis. Terry Lloyd is a pretty nice guy and his daughter is too.

Cool, thanks for those links - they all look really interesting. The book especially, a westerners guide to Japanese culture kind of thing appeals to me
