Ideas on how to clean rust in the cart holder in the Saturn

Hi everyone, I own 2 saturns now and they share the same problem, rust in the cart holder, none of my Mega Drives have it, so I really don't know what to do. Does anyone have the same problem or I was unlucky? And if someone has suggestions on how to clean it I would be thankful. Cheers
