IDE adapter for 3DO FZ-10

Just came across this thread and I'd love to order one of these.

In other vapourware news, I got an email from Super Fighter Team to tell me the Lynx Zaku I ordered over two years ago is going to ship in the next 10 days!!!

If this guy can't sell it to the world why not release source code and let somebody else do it.

 

That's awesome, I'd love to get one to see if it can be implemented in other optical media drives (Sega CD and Turbo Duo, specifically).

 

I don't think so. This adapter is for FZ-10 only. Even not for any of Goldstar models.

 

The guys over at 3DO Zero forums are trying to put together an order: http://3do.cdinteractive.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2237. Apparently he will need to make another batch, and wants sufficient orders to start making them.

 

Thanks for the heads up, already went there and put my name for one.

 

If anyone gets one and wants to have it installed without the risk of damage I can handle it. Doesn't look hard but I can understand the hesitation.

Guy who developing these boards is from Kazakhstan.
http://3do-renovation.ru/3DO_IDE_adapter.htm - you can send him mail (bottom of that page), but he don't do mass productions, first he gather some orders, than buy components, and then assembling. I was waiting for adapter like 3 months.
I think, if you'll be able to gather like 10 or more people, willing to buy it - I can contact him and talk about mass shipment. (I am fluent in Russian, and I bought adapter from him)
Hardware itself is 100% compatible with all iso's, everything is working fast and stable.

 

Well, you can put me down for at least 2 of them, maybe even 3.

Author spend 5 years researching hard and soft components of 3DO before first generation of devices appears. During his tests he took part in development of 5 games on 3DO. So if you'd ineteresting in competition - you should hurry )

i,am new to the forum as you can see i love all the threads

and sorry for reviving an old thread like this but i found a solution for the fz-10 problem when the laser is not moving but the cd is turning the little motor that moves the laser back and forward has a cog and after some time this cog gets stuck and looses gripp on the cog on the stick.

if you unscrew the motor and put some grease on the cogs and then put it back but not tighten the screws to hard you will see it will move again!

It worked for me for two fz-10 devices that where fixed very cheap like this

i also got a little question offcourse anyone know where to get the spindle motor that holds the cd labeld bcl3a2cra i already searched with google but with no avail

 

i thought the point of these was to hook a hard drive up to it not another optical drive.. I could have sworn some sort of game selector was written to pick which game off the HD you want to play.
