HCK - negative review

Stay away from this seller....He is a crook and a thief,
He took payment for items to the tune of $274 from me and over $100 from another forum member from China.

Hopefully one of the moderator will see fit to ban him even though It wont help me get my money back it will stop other members from being conned by this crook.

 

Ban him and you get zero money back, let's see if we can get him to reimburse you.

In the meantime, you can post his paypal and other infos if you have it.

Actually I have recovered large sums for people by being polite.

 

Well I bought an original Japanese smoked Xbox early special model and a couple of wonderswans.
I tried being polite with this guy Assembler, It got me nowhere.
In fact he was extremely rude.
This is the address he has registered on his Google checkout account although he resides in Japan.

UNITED STATES Like I said he would not accept Paypal as he said he had been scammed!!

No at least 3 people that I know off HCK has stolen money from.

 

I don't see anything unlawful in posting his name, aliases, address and other useful things to protect other ppl from being scammed by this scumbag tbh.

Therefor I cannot understand why legit removed this info.

 

Because a username is enough. If he doesn't sort this out both his username HCK, and his company *of far more concern to HCK* look like utter shit.

Ofcourse it's unlawful, what if somebody goes around and beats HCK up? Wouldn't you be an accomplice for posting the information

 

Trouble is he has no intention of sorting this out. He has not contacted me or the other guys he has taken money from.

 

i have no ill will against hck. but it not unlawful to post info. this is the only way to make sure that a user doesnt rename themself and contiue scaming.

there are plenty of forums that do this and no laws have been broken.

no more then the yellow pages company is an accomplice for posting the information of where someone lives.

 

I think the point is it's worth waiting to see if HCK's conscience, or at the very least a concern for his reputation, kicks-in before measures such as posting his details become necessary. If he feels he's being 'victimised' then doing so will only add to his perception, however 'in the wrong' he may be.

No, it isn't unlawful to post addresses, telephone numbers, etc. But all it creates is vigilantism and no real good can come of it.

I do wonder where HCK is at the moment - haven't seen him for a good while (although according to his profile he is still checking the site as of yesterday), and more importantly he hasn't come into the thread to sort this out. Nobody in their right mind ships out nearly $300 worth of goods without insurance, and so I don't understand why he's just 'cut and run' on this, especially as it was quite a prolific contributor to the site.

HCK, please come and tell us what is going on.

 

It is unlawful under the Data Protection Act 1998 as personal information can only be used for the reasons it was acquired and kept for only as long as is needed to fulfill that reason.

If other forums do it, then other forums are violating the laws (plus it doesn't mean it is right to copy them)... but that is only the law in this country. Many other countries have similar laws and given that this site is already in a legal minefield it is best not to add to our problems.

It is unfortunate HCK has/hasn't done this but a) banning him won't get your money back b) leaving him unbanned but continuing to shitpost about him won't get your money back, but also c) letting sleeping dogs lie wont get it back either.

Obviously contact him but don't contact him several times a week as the more you push the more you push away. Once every several weeks should be sufficient to remind him that you're out there without going so far as to be deemed harassment but your broken record probably hasn't helped. I understand that you're angry - heck we've all been there, but you're not exactly going about it the best way.

i created a simular thread and got no help. on another member. but as i said i have no ill will against hck. im here to do what others didnt do for me.

 

Not even trying to defend himself, or courtesy to explain his side of the matter. Sad news if interesting to follow to see its conclusion.

Yellow pages has a legitimate use, posting somebodies address so somebody goes round and belts him isn't a legitimate use.:thumbsup:
