I've been thinking about it recently and, if it's not too much to ask, do we have any information on the development teams behind systems like the Saturn, Mega Drive, and such? And I don't mean a blanket term, I mean like director of the project, assistant director, producer, etc. I just haven't seen very much info about the minds behind these pieces of hardware is all.
Only snippets as far as I know - Yuji Naka comes into mind for the arcade projects he worked on, and the "away team" was dubbed as the makers of the Saturn by an article that has been circulating for a decade but doesnt have any citations. One of the things I want the most is to hear an in-depth technical interview about the people who designed the Sega console hardware.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Also, knowing who worked on the hardware is a good way to find credits for people who worked on "common code" such as the SMPS audio driver and controller code and such. I highly doubt those people are credited in the games. I'd like to see who actually worked on those drivers and such, maybe better document the whole of people who could've worked together on parts of games.
