Hello all, I am moving home in the coming days so while packing, I find interesting things in my video game collection. My last found is a Special build of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which was given to a very limited number of Staff people during a Citroen GT car promotion event. Here is a picture of the box and disc. As we can see, the box is not a classic PS3 box, but a standard DVD box, with a artwork made by the Citroen Marketing. The disc itself is an officially pressed PS3 disc. This game is a limited demo. The only car playable is the GT by Citroen. There is also a show room and an e-manual. Six circuits can be played. Here are few picts of the game running on my PS3. The circuit not visible on the picts is London. Here is all I can say about this build. If anyone have more information about it, don't hesitate to comment the thread ! Enjoy guys, Baptiste.
I've heard about it but never seen it myself. Thanks a lot for the pictures and info. I went to check on the GT collectors database list and it's already there. alexbrasil was the one who added. Unfortunately he hasn't logged in here for over a year.
Hello Johnny, Thanks for your feedback ! Can you give me a link to this Database ? Thanks ! Regards, Baptiste.
This is amazing kenny! I've never seen this before at all. I think it could have been used at auto shows for promotion or at press events. I'm not 100% sure on that, but it seems plausible. This is probably one of the rarest Gran Turismo finds out there. Thanks you for posting pictures!
Actually the database is a google drive file shared with some of the collectors here. @ortus is the one who hosts it, so please send him a PM.
Hello Digmac, You are right, it was used during a special Citroen Event, to promote the new GT car concept. I should make a video of the game playing, just to figure out what we are able to do in this demo (and to see the main menu, which is a 3D view of the GT in some german city streets. If more pictures needed, don't hesitate to ask Thanks a lot Johnny, I didn't know that. I will ask Ortus if I can have an access (even a short time access) to the Database. Thanks a lot !
I'd be interested to know if this disc would be able to be ripped via PC bluray drives. Is it a standard BD-R disc or is it a fully authored PS3 disc (like ones you'd find in game stores)? If it appears to be a standard BD-R try to rip it with the guide I wrote up not too long ago. I wanna get my greedy hands on it to dig into it.
Hello Guys, The game is on a ps3 authorized blue-ray. The same as retail ones. Digmac, I actually want to sell a part of my collection, as my wife and I have a baby on the way so we need space and money. But someone here already ask if he can buy the disc and I say yes to him. We just need to find an agreement about the price. Sorry Others items to come for sale this week.
@kennypecheur nice piece. It seems that I am a little late to make an offer By the way, the item is listed in our GT database, it's serial is BCED-00393, isn't it?
Hello Ortus, Haha yes, a little bit late. I am a one word man, so I will sell it to him, unless we don't find a correct price. About the serial, I can confirm it tomorrow evening. Is it ok for you ? Regards, Baptiste.
I am surprised that Citroen went to the hassle of actually having a physical copy. As far as I know, CD and DVD manufacturing was much, much cheaper and I wonder how much money Citroen spent just to have this thing exist physically.
I will Yes, very strange ! But they spent a lot of money to make a concept car and a lot of Marketing for this concept car. I guess few ps3 disc is nothing compared to the amount of money.
