Gameboy Pocket with a black smudge on screen

    Hello, recently saw many videos about the original gameboy screen, in which a column of pixels is off
    But not saw anything about this problem:
    The screen works normal only with that big black spot in the center.
    This is caused by what? no way to fix it?[​IMG]

    Usually caused by damage to the screen. Dont think its fixable.

    Sounds like it was caused by pressure on the screen.

    ever punched a calculator really hard because you hate maths?

    Couldn't it be sun damaged polarizing film?

    ^^^^^^^^BINGO!!!!!!!! if you can do an LCD mod to the pocket like the FAT you can fix that with new film. i've done the screem mod on fat GB's that were like that.

    If the calculator I needed for my math classes wasn't $50-200 depending on the model I'd gladly punch mine.

    Then only one change of polarizing filter would resolve?
    The screen seems to be in good condition out this problem!

    I believe changing the filter follows the same backlight installation process
    As soon as possible I will post the results here!
