First off, proof: Proof of it running: Disc: Aging Test For Production. try59 System: Nintendo GameCube Date: 2001 September (in DOL) Crowd Fund amount: $62 / $200 USD Crowd Funding deadline: 15th July 2016 I have a previously unreleased dump of a pre-production GameCube Service Disc known as the "Aging Test for Production-try59" that I'd like to release. From what I gather this disc eventually became the "Service Disc" that service centers used. This version is from a time where it was still known as the "Aging Test" instead of "Service Disc" even though it shares some of the same functionality but does have a much cruder interface. I intend to release a dump of it for the masses to poke through, however I'm trying to raise some funds to make back what the disc owes me. Once the goal is reached, the ISO will be released with some brief instructions. It can be run on a GameCube console if burned onto DVD-R, I've tried it on my PAL console and it works fine. Donations can be made to support@gc-forever.com via PayPal only - please use your ASSEMbler forum name in the description or leave it blank if you do not wish to be known. I will update the total daily.
I might need to move this to general gaming if no one is seeing your post here in the downloads. Made a donation.
I wonder if this disk will run on the later GCs that lack the digital port. The commonly available "Service Disk" won't run on those later GCs, right?
Yes, that's correct. The disc likes to reset the drive quite a bit when it tests the drive as part of the suite of tests so you'll need a XenoGC modded GameCube if you wish to run that part so that it can re-auth the DVD-R disc after it. The tests can be cancelled before you reach that point or you could just run it on Dolphin.
