It wouldn't have turned into a "pro drug vs. anti drug" discussion if you had done something to prevent that. Instead of cracking down on people trolling by posting images of "Winners Don't Use Drugs", you decided that "DRUGS ARE BAD AND WE CAN'T HAVE A DISCUSSION ON THEM AT ALL." I would not have gotten defensive if I didn't have a reason to.

I honestly do not care in the slightest if you don't like drug use. If anyone wants to discuss it in a calm and civil manner, that is fine with me. Having people shoving opinions down my throat when they are not asked for is guaranteed to piss me off.

"Use" your moderating power? Being a moderator is a job, not a toy you use to close topics you don't like. If all you have to do is delete the occasional spam, then that's all you have to do. Closing a topic because you haven't had an excuse to use that ability in a long time is pathetic.

Edit: If you actually want to go back and read the "Legalize it" thread, Tachikoma even said he believed the discussion was civil. Again, this is not about pro drug vs. anti drug, but you forcing your opinions into what should be otherwise neutral matters.

 

The part about us not using our moderating in ages wasnt the reason why I closed the topic. As stated before it was because people were trolling the OP and none of the moderators liked where it was going (user vs user). The reason I brought that up is because its been so long, that some people may have gotten used to no moderation. Hence your backlash at this.

Im not going to reply to you anymore because you keep getting increasingly hostile so lets just agree to dis-agree. If you feel strongly about this I'd suggest PMing Kev to see what he thinks. As I dont think hes been around enough to surf this topic.

 

If you believed some of the posters were trolling, then maybe you should've done something about their posts rather than close the entire topic. I like how you shifted attention to me, though.

I want to say this again, loud and clear: I do not have a problem with moderators (other than you). It appears to me, though, that you attempted to throw in a last word right before you closed the topic. You did not say a word about the posters who were trolling in the thread, other than the one PM you sent me. I saw no evidence of disciplinary action taken against them; instead you lock the thread for everyone who was actually posting relevant text.

I don't see where you noticed me being "hostile," however, I am quite displeased with the way you handled things, and I want to make that well known. If you would like to use that as an excuse to discontinue the conversation, though, I won't stop you.

 

I know how Assembler will take such a PM. He's closed threads on drugs before now, and he was far more vocal about his personal feelings on the matter than Dot was.

It does seem to me like the conversation should have been shifted to this thread, though, rather than cut entirely. There's no rule I'm aware of against controversial subject matter in off-topic, in fact largely I'd say that's what it's there for: to facilitate civil conversation on topics of debate. I can't say I saw that thread going particularly nasty, but given the potential for heated discussion, it might be better at home here.

 

If you wish to discuss smokable products please do so in the unmoderated thread.

 

I was calling Dot50Cal's moderating into question, rather than the discussion of drugs.

 

So, it looks like posts are once again being deleted when they don't sit well with certain moderators (even if the content in them is true). I like how some members are able to attack a new member with names such as 'fanboy' just because they post well thought and logical opinions, but when another member tries to 'help out' or 'protect' that new member, their post gets deleted.

The 'new moderation policy' has come to an end.

I have no idea what was said, but it's complete bullshit that it's been deleted. We've been through this countless times before, too, and as Yakumo is well aware, it was agreed that posts wouldn't get deleted. Unless that changed over the past couple of months where I've not been around, there's some explaining to do.

 

Yeah AWS, is talking about that thread, where he tried to "have fun". And then I said to him, he was lower than naveldust. But the thing is, why would he try to "have fun" , when he was caught up in a corner , and he felt the heat. And he then sent me a "truce pm" long ago ?

Well the thing is, AWS is someone I don´t care about, and I couldn´t care less, of him that I do now.
And well I think he was saved by a cunthair on the weight scale if he would get banned or not. Long ago. When he sent me the gay PM.


And well, why his and my post got deleted, was perhaps the moderators didn´t want any funky war. And that is something I understand.

 

I updated the rules, we no longer delete posts / moderate EXCEPT for trolling.

Trolling meaning statements that serve no purpose except to create conflict, like "Fuck all (minority group) they are nothing but faggots"

Moderation by definition is a job that puts you at odds with the moderated.
So to disagree with them from time to time is natural, esp if you're the one who was moderated.

I've always noticed Yakumo being biased and waving his power around and deleting posts that he "didn't like" before that new rule was implemented. Some of which wouldn't really be constituted as trolling either, just a middle aged man getting pissed at people younger than him, and deleting their posts, because they obviously "Have no taste in games, or are fanboys"

I swear, Sega fanboys like Yakumo are the worst.

AWS: listen up, if we are talking about Evangelion-01, then listen. Long ago, he and I had an MSN conversation, where he provoked so much, so I shouted in anger "Atleast I am a white man". So now listen again, I am neither gay or a racist !. And second of all, I don´t care what ever colour you God damn are, and what ever language you speak, if you can´t behave. Then I am not fond of you. Also when the incident happened with Evangelion-01 there I sent the msn log to one of my friends for safe keeping. Since I felt somebody should know the truth about what happened. Since it prooved, that I wasn´t a racist. Perhaps the friend I have is not around at the moment, but he could clarify my statement. Yes, because it's so wrong to expect someone to learn your country's language when they decide to move there to live. I'm such a racist because I expect people to learn English when they move to the US. I mean shit, you have hundreds of people coming from hundreds of countries across the world each year learning English just so they can go to school here for 4 years. However if they want to live here, they shouldn't be expected to. It makes so much sense now!
