I think it does exist because there have been one or two famicom clones that used it. Also there is one mock system.

I think the famiclones had a few minor differences.

That is a pretty sweet find

Now if we could only find a factory storage room that had enough boards to till a few hundred of the m2 shells...then we could be talking

Does anyone have ANY idea how many of the console style m2 units were produced? I know the fz-35 was produced in a relatively decent quantity, but I've never heard how many of the black console style units were actually made

Very intriguing and surely one great find. If not as useful by itself all things considered. Case moulds without motherboard blueprints to build more M2 systems to put in them is sort of halfway there.

I don't have any to hand but they have been posted on this forum before. If I remember rightly, they were white. As Cyantist pointed out though, the famiclones did have slight changes in the design but still basically the Neptune.

Yes, i remember the topic where it was mentioned:

    http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22181

I had the vague idea that someone said the mockup was made of wood, thats why i thought it was unlikely a mould would exist. In that topic it is mentioned that the mock is made of solid plastic, so it probably does exist then. :)

Is it me, or doesn't that famiclone look like the neptune at all?

I thought it was not made of wood but had wood in place of any internals.

It exists, from what I've read two moulds were made but but they never functioned due to being nothing more than empty shells...
