Fixing the Hinge of IS-NITRO-CAPTURE

Title says it all:
I recently scored a fully working IS-NITRO-CAPTURE with wireless and USG options (the DS lite controller unit).
The hinge on that is broken though, seems to be a common problem with this particular part.

Is there any way to repair that? I guess that the process would be different, because it is essentially a complete different device than a retail unit inside and also hardwired to the main unit.

That part should be the same as a retail ds lite, use one as a sacrifice.

 

You will need to be careful, it's a lot of work swapping the shell. There will be need to dremel the cable access on the back.

 

So it's impossible to fix it without replacing the whole shell?

 

I believe someone else did this replacement below, just choose a nice replacement shell to start with. =)

 

looks like the front lcd housing is the broken part, so yes or you can just replace the front of the top display and tension piece.
The console came in white so it should be a clean fix, you'll need to full dismantle the unit however
