Fixing a scph-1001

    Yes, seems the console don't go at 2x speed, replacing the BA should fix the issue

    Yeah, that BA6398FP is the part I was talking about - and that's a very clean board...

    Is it possible to get this chip from another ps1 that isn't a scph-1001? I have a friend who has a spare ps1 with a broken spindle that is a later model.

    I believe so, I saw this IC on a SCPH-5500 that is broken here.

    Ah, that BTL driver is so annoying :p !
    I make a video long time ago and yeah....the BA6397FP from ROHM is the IC responsable for the spindle and motor driver.
    With a hot air is a piece of cake :D!

    Sometimes, it could be a bad push-pull regolation but for 99% of cases...yeah, it's the BTL driver.
