Final Fantasy VII nes repro tutorial?

I was just wondering if there is a good resource/guide/tutorial for making a FF7 nes repro cart. Like which donor works best, which eproms to get, rewiring, etc.

Unless something has changed, you don't make a "repro" unless you have a cartridge with the same hardware inside it as the original. No NES "donor" will work.

 

Ok, so any idea how those carts are made? Is it an all original PCB?

 

I think the FF7 nes is a hack or homebrew of the first final fantasy, so a donor for the original FF should be compatible with the FF7 nes.

 

Not at all, the cartidge has a new mapper, and the rom size is around 2MB.
The game isn't a hack of FF1 either.

 

A new mapper? This goes back to my other question then, is it an original PCB?

 

It's an original/unique PCB board made by the unlicensed asian company that made the game. To make an English Cartridge for the NES you must get the Chinese Famicom cartridge or another cartridge using the exact same board, and then replace the ROM. I think I saw someone has done that, so I assume it is possible to do with an original board and a Famicom to NES adapter board inside the cartridge case.
