You know how ASSEMbler has tags on the left side for donaters and other site supporters? Think I found a problem. I recently hit the 2,000 post mark and found a new option when going through my user settings. I found a new option labeled "Custom User Title" and decided to make my own custom title. When I did it removed my donor status. Is this a glitch or something? I thought the titles put on profiles by ASSEMbler were permanent. thought they would stay even when I changed my custom title. I noticed other users have the donor titles in addition to their own custom one. Any chance of fixing this? If so, I was a site donor for 2012 and 2013. Thanks in advance if it can be fixed.
I can see how one would think that donor and other "statuses" aren't part of the "title"... But I can also see how it's an easy (if a bit hack-ish) way to add a status system where none is provided by the forum software. Imho a small hint next to the custom title entry should take care of this (perceived) issue. Just a thought: Does BB code work in a custom title? That could allow you to add back the missing tags yourself (as well as invent new ones... ahem... forget I said anything.)
BB code doesn't work on the user side. Been there, tried that after I saw my donor status gone. And ASSEMbler, if custom titles remove all other titles including status titles, why do other users have custom titles along with their donor or site supporter status? If it helps any, I won't be messing with the custom title box ever again. Got something corny there and it will stay until the site goes down, you do something to it, or the apocalypse comes.
I figured. At this point I'm asking if the same could be done for mine when he gets a free moment. Looks like it won't happen...
