Finally. This is amazing, thank you!
Dreamcast release of the year!
I need a new holygrail now! Damn you drx!
Are the op screenshots from the same beta that has been released?
The main menu screen looks totally different.
Screenshot I took.
By pressing L+R + (X-y-a-b) in some combinations you can trigger different debug menus, none seem to be accesible though.
Have you tried connecting a second controller/mouse/keyboard for the menus?
Yes, but I could not do anything, someone eles could try it.
From memory, I get the proper level names on the title screen on GDEMU with the gdi. I can't remember if I get the same white-on-black text though.
Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing!
Even though the prototype is very early you can glitch the game and access some "inaccessible areas in almost every stage.
Also exporing the game in Wireframe mode will reveal hidden or inaccesible areas-geometry.
I am having a lot of fun exploring, thanks again for sharing.
Dreamcast Soul Reaver 2 could be!
No special place in my hearth for Soul Reaver though, Ecco was something special!
That said, I'd be glad to see that one!
Thanks a lot drx, +1. Love this kind of preservation.
Woah, this is awesome! Downloading now. I should be able to give this a shot on Wednesday. Nothing but more thanks and appreciation from me.
Super cool, have the first game but have never actually played it, perhaps the release of the sequel will finally prompt me to play it. Always glad to see things like this surface.
Quality post is quality.
This proto is trending on facebook.
"Ecco the Dolphin: Prototype for Unpublished Sequel to 1992 Underwater Adventure Game Discovered
Game preservationists at Hidden Palace found the Sega Dreamcast prototype "Ecco II: Sentinels of the Universe" dated Feb. 19, 2001, about six weeks before the Dreamcast was discontinued."
OOps, I posted in the wrong thread. Here's the screenshot of facebook.
Thanks a lot drx! This is awesome.
Thank you so much. This means a lot to me. More than I can say. Thank you. I've been waiting for this for almost a decade. Ecco on dreamcast is my favorite game. I saw the YouTube video, knew about the auction, was told it was lost, was told the data wasn't usable, I really can't tell you. Thank you.
