Oh, yeah, I heard back from my friend about the Ozzy Dreamcast. It's legit. I mean the console is, not the price...heh.
The link doesn't work Edit: You posted it as a pic but wow holy crap http://cgi.ebay.com/NINTENDO-NES-GA...ultDomain_0&hash=item4153d828ab#ht_719wt_1035
Just received my 3DO in the mail today Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 this was the picture from the ebay auction so do they have to not only give me a refund on the item and shipping but give me money for shipping it back too?
Ebay are crap - they pull hardware all the time...always erring on the side of caution when it comes to stuff their brain-dead admins don't understand. And don't get me started on Vero - trying to get something into the Vero program is next to impossible, again, most likely 'cos they have such a limited understanding of most things, especially hardware.
Yikes, you certainly got a bit of a lemon there! Annoyingly, I think eBay only refund on original postage unless you push for it. Give them a ring and find out.
Does the color indicate the amount of light it has gotten? most people keep these in boxes and thus not directly in the sun.
The EPROM window is uncovered. Not good considering UV light is used to erase them. It can take a while for sunlight to do this, so it depends on how long it's been exposed for.
the seller ended up giving me a %50 refund and letting me keep the stuff. i have since been able to repair the mechanical dammage but the system looks like crap. oh well. $35 total spent. not that bad i guess.
The eprom windows? They're transparent, common practice in the "window producing" scene The label looks dirty, but not exactly suntan. He should have covered the EPROMs though.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Playstatio...3287?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item1c1b6a43c7 I hate people trying to sell bootlegs as a legit thing...
Considering the price, that's not too bad, at least they're semi-interesting chinese copies rather than a spindle of CDR's labelled ROMZ.
Browsing ebay earlier in the dreamcast section I was so annoyed by people selling emulators, copied games, rom collections and all manor of dodgy freeware stuff taking advantage of those who don't know better I went on an item-reporting spree. There's just so many. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?rt=nc&LH_BIN=1&_nkw=dreamcast&_sc=1&_sop=15&_trksid=p3286.c0.m301
The DC parasites have been mentioned here time and time again, nothing but thieves but ebay just don't seem to give a shit.
