He lowered the price on the DVT-4 shell to 475 now! That should be about 25 if you ask me. But I did offer the guy 300 bucks for it and he turned me down. I really want to find a DVT-4 now for a long time. I have never had a DVT-4 and it is driving me nuts!

$300 for a case, you insane? Patience is the key in collecting.

No I didn't (and technically can't). All roms chip are on sockets and not soldered to the board. I bought them off ebay a few years ago, from a guy named "Manfred Kleimann", former editor-in-chief of a german games magazin called ASM (german for Aktueller Software Markt). I did run and play the boards, but didn't notice anything special gameplay-wise.

Wow. I saw that, that he lowered the price. I can't see spending more than $150 IMO. I mean functionally, sure any motherboard inside (preferably a debug or hacked retail would be best), but most of what made it a DVT4 is gone. The shell is nice, I would love to have it but $475 for it and the extra daughterboards, eh I am just not feeling it.

If you add a debug motherboard to it then it will be a complete machine again. That is all the DVT-4's motherboard is. The daughter boards are the only difference between a DVT-4 and a debug.

I thought more about the 300 price tag and I agree that it is not worth the 300 that I was offering him either. I just sold the 1990 mustang GT convertible that I had in my garage. So I have the extra money right now and I really want to get a DVT-4 while I have the extra money. I wish I could find someone that had a DVT-4 right now that would sell it to me. I love the DVT-4 and I never had a chance to own one of them. I have had more then 10 debugs and I even have a 360 XDK jasper that is a prototype. So the DVT-4 would fit great in the collection!

I also have the DVD emulation kit with the raptor card and hard drive. I even have the original scsi cable that was used with it also. It is a REV_03 kit also. I am not sure what the difference is between the REV_01 and the REV_03 raptor kits are though. But I figured that the REV_03 has to have something different about it so that is the version I went for.

That is true that it would take a debug mobo to be complete, but you'd always know, ya know? I know the Xbox Original collectors don't mind the popped seals on the consoles due to the clock cap issue, but I prefer knowing it wouldn't be a chop job. Like I said, I totally would go $150 on it, and more than likely do exactly what we are talking about with a debug board and "restore" it. But then I would always want that untampered virgin one someday.

Guys, I realize it's an old subject (or one week) but you should take into consideration that everything Matt has been selling is has gone towards charity, in other words he has not made a dollar on any of the links he has posted. I personally do not appreciate charities and I never donate anything to charity but I think this is a very wise and respectful thing to do. And after all, the thread title is "Ebay item links and USER auction links" it even says "USER links" in caps.
First of all it is never spamming if he isn't sending the same message multiple times for that is what spam means. And secondly, non if this is tasteless, it is very awesome what he is doing. He's giving away his items for free to support charities. I'd be happy to shake this mans hand.

I get you. But can we choose SD if we want to? I might consider this item, see how it goes, although I prefer SD over recorded, less chance of things getting lost.

He has also broken the rules by selling copies of prototypes, this despite being warned and having the auction remove the first time (and unsurprisingly not listing the second time he listed and sold it).

He is spamming. All he's been doing is posting links to his auctions very frequently. Spamming doesn't need to be the same thing over and over. At the rate he's going, it is spamming. If he wants to support charity, then great, but that doesn't give him the right to abuse a privilege to post here.
