why you labeled the metroid first hunt demo "RARE" and "VERY HARD TO OBTAIN", when it was bundled with EVERY ds system is beyond me...

Heh, the seller did the same thing with Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis. I guess pack-in games are the new collectible, eh? I'm gonna have to bust out my NES copy of Super Mario Bros and put it up on eBay as RARE and HARD TO FIND!

Seller is also advertising a few SNES games with custom printed labels as being "rare white labels." It's amazing what a label printer and creative advertising can do for ya. One day you have normal, retail games. The next day you have "rare white labels." It's like magic! ;)

I would also question the "demo" label being applied to all of those DS carts. At least some are not demos at all, but rather retail carts with a NFR label.

yup, ebay has to put out some sort of announcement to ALL USERS saying not to call anything RARE or saying L@@K!!!1!11!!one!!!1 unless they DO RESEARCH on the item :katamari:

Another thing i find VERY annoying is users just making a template like: "good game works fine." and copy-pasting it to every item they sell, rather than describing the individual item.

Interesting, it looks like a Famicom without those crappy habits clones usually have. Seems to have rapid-fire buttons as well which would make sense considering the games Konami released for the Famicom. Then again, I've never heard of something like a licensed Konami FC and my first thought was "clone".

    >>Limited Edition Christmas Seaman Dreamcast Serial No. 000/850, seems
    >>legit, but i thought it would start at 1?...
The xmas seaman with serial of 0 has been on ebay before and was sold - I recall it must have been 2 or so years ago.

It was sold by a well known seller at the time, so I took it to be legit at that time. Can't recall the seller but was someone like Caruski (spelling) or Japanese-games - a trusted seller anyway. It didn't sell for $900 tho, I'm reasonably sure it was cheaper - actually it didn't sell at first then the price dropped and it was sold.....

I haven't got my Xmas seaman with me here (I'm living Oz, my DCs are in UK), but I recall the certificate being creamy heavy weight paper - it's hard to tell from the photo (as lighting varies when taking photos) - it looks to match the pictures of mine -

Hard to guage the paper weight from a photo. The original certificate also has a spelling mistake on it, can't tell if this one has it too.

It's not that easy to fake the certificate, tho its possible.

Another possibility is to look at the serial and see if it lies sequentially close to other seamans - it's no guarentee but its likely tho not defnite that the serial is close to other seamans.

    It looks genuine to me.

I actually had trouble finding a non-"NOT FOR RESALE" copy of Sonic the other day. It was a little sad.

Now that's a clone I'd love to have. Assuming it is a clone, and not something noone's heard of. Wish he shipped to the USA...

Thanks for the help Bert, I know you know your stuff:thumbsup:

So my conclusion is, no stopping me from buying it, accept the price, think it's a tee bit high:banghead:

Now I have you, is there anywhere you have a gallery of you collection?:) The only thing I've seen from you is the picture with your "VMU wall." And of course dreacastgallery, but it seems like many of the pictures on there is just standard pictures, and not pictures of your items?:)

    Thanks Mikkel:)

I'm not 100% sure that this Seaman XMax DC #000 is legit.

I saw it on Yahoo auction years ago - it was sold for >100.000 Yen.
But the Seaman XMas DC #000 was also for sale at E-Starland in the US!
    http://www.estarland.com/product16697.html
And Bert saw it for sale on Ebay a while ago.

It's not impossible that it wandered that way but for a #000 console i wouldn't expect it to pop up that often.

Okay, that sounds a bit dodgy:rolleyes: I mean, it is possible that's been trded that much, and people think they can keep making money on it, but it seems hihly unlikely, that one particular system gets traded that often.

Compared to how rarely this system in general is listed/traded, don't you think?:banghead:

Is it possible the first 99 don't have a serial number? - a printing error of some kind. What other numbers have people seen for sale? (anything below 99 would kill my theory)

Also, not to nitpick - but did anyone else notice that there's no photo of the red controller? That does seem very strange to me.

Hmm, don't know about the print error...

But as of the controller, it seems that if you look closely at picture four, you get a glimpse of the controller in the right side of the box? But yes, it seems odd there's no clear picture of it, when the seller knows that every detail counts on such a rare and expesive system:rolleyes:
