Damn those Kuros pictured above look sexy... Good work, very professional looking.
Beharius can you combine this with a CMOY audio amp? It would be a very nice product. I would pay what was needed.
Why not? Thanks for the idea! I have to look for that IC and work on that sample design.
Wow! looks awesome this kuros!! xD
Awesome, how did I miss this thread! if you're ever making any more I would love to get one of these
I've gotta say Beharius, this scanliner is absolutely kicking. I'll try to get a video of it up running out of the Mega PC / TeraDrive -> 15KHz converter -> LCD.
Should be interesting to say the least! :biggrin-new:
Thanks again and best wishes to all for the new year!
-> Meringues -> I put you in my list for the next batch.
-> RetroJunkie -> Haha, thanks, I am impatient to see that setup...
Happy new year & best wishes to all my friends!
What's up with the kuros shipping them soon? Im so impatient i can't wait any longer! But take your time if it means making sure its a better product. Can't wait!
I could post them last week, but I thought in this Xmas rush they may be lost, so I've waited until now. In the next few days, they will be shipped.
Awesome. I been holding off playing certain games till i get the cable. In the meantime ill be playing bomberman online 4 player battle mode which i highly recommend to everyone to do. That was probably pointless because Im sure everyone here already knows bomberman kicks ass lol
Here's the video of the scanline generator in action!
As you can see it is AWESOME! Thanks Belharius! Looking forward to the HANZO :triumphant:
It's awesome! fantastic setup, thank you RJ!
I have to add something about this Scanliner. In around the 4th minute of the video, the image flickers and darkens later. This is because of the scanline on/off switch. Odd/even switch should be turned off too, in conjunction with the on/off switch when you want to turn off the scanlines and change it to normal view. To sum it up, all other switches should be switched to their normal positions, this eliminates both the darkening and flickering problems. These may occur in some monitors. It's a little complication of 74HC chips, IMO. I will try 74LS chips in the future ones.
While testing the boxes, I noticed that the chips don't need any 5v power source, it's all parasitic (as Toodles wrote) so when I put a switch to its power source line, nothing changed, it was impossible to turn it off. Then I found an ingenious way to turn it off. During that period I went mad, seeing scanlines while dreaming etc...
Hahaha thanks for the explanation, I am just happy there are scan lines :encouragement:
I did notice the flickering didn't happen on my work monitor where I initially tested.
So many switches, so little time... Scan, scan, scan lineeeeeeees!
We are waiting for the new wave of scanliner !!!!
Love this product.
Retrojunkie - Great video. Would've been nice to see a little gameplay with scan lines turned off though just to compare.
Beharius - If I put an order in for a Hanzo, what would an estimated completion/shipped date be?
There is no difference in video when it's turned off, same as original...
First Hanzos will be delivered next week, so next ones will be 2 weeks minimum.
Haha exactly! Why have a scanline generator inline if you aren't after scanlines :friendly_wink:
You can see how the TV looks in normal mode at the end of the video, pretty bland looking!
Needs more scanlines :encouragement:
