    Hello Guys,

I'm planning to buy the newest HD retrovision cables soon, and I wanted to make an adaptor for the Sega Genesis 2 component cable to use it on the PS1. The team behind the cables is working on a prototype of their own, but they are refusing to sell it until they are sure it reaches their expected levels of quality.

I decided to not wait for them and make my own, should be kind of simple, right?

Would anyone care to give some pointers to a fellow retro-gamer in need?
I found this on the internet, the pinouts for Ps1 and Genesis 2, but it seems way too simple to just match red green and blue:

And I'm planning to cannibalize a PS1 composite cable for the other end, as well as the cable.

    Any suggestions/walkthrough/hints/tips?

Anything you can suggest will be greatly appreciated.

The first thing that comes to mind is that most PS1 composite cables don't have all the pins loaded on the connector - only the ones that are needed to connect the composite and audio lines.

Interestingly enough, it seems that most of the RF cables for the Playstation have a fully populated connector.

How about buying the PS2 AV style connectors plug sold here in Assembler Games? would those work?

Would I need any kind of shielding to protect the retrovision cables?

I think that the easiest to find with a fully populated connector are these:

You'd have to know the cable color wiring though, and it's been a royal pain in the rear for me to get it to work. (in fact,I never got my DIY RGB Playstation SCART cable to work)

that looks expensive. How about a cheap PS2 component cable from amazon/ebay?
