    Hi guys,

I finally am ready to start developing my sega genesis homebrew. I was wondering if anyone has done a chu chu rocket port for the genesis yet as all i could find is a demo on some rom site, but no official release. If no one has completed a chu chu rocket port is anyone interested in me creating one?

    Sincerely,

    SegaDev

I would love to see a finished port of this gem, just be very aware that SEGA are quite trigger happy with their Cease and Desist letters to fan projects using their IPs. I'd like to think they'd be charmed to see someone de-make one of their flagship titles to their 25 year old console but faceless legal teams are sympathetic to no cause.

A couple of years ago Good Deal Games commercially released a ChuChuRocket-clone for the Mega-CD / SEGA CD; http://www.gooddealgames.com/Publishing_SegaCD_MightyMightyMissile.html

Seeing 'Mighty Mighty Missile' pretty much ripped off the whole art direction and gameplay of ChuChu, I'm pretty sure you'll get away with a free variant for the Mega Drive.

It's the same guy. The demo is an improved port of the GBA version. Mighty Mighty Missile is made by the same guy. So i'm guessing he pretty much straight ported the GBA version, improved it and renamed it for legal reasons.
