Not trying to diminish anyone's ideas, but this would be very difficult from a community from people all over the world. Setting a date alone would be a nightmare, as most people wouldn't be able to go because of work and other obligations. A 2 day convention would require at least 4 days off work for someone coming from another region.

I'm a member since 2002 and would really enjoy meeting some of the guys that are around since the beginning. But like i said, it's too difficult to make it actually work.

And the money spent? It would be more realistic, cheaper and way more important to keep helping the site. The last fundraiser for example, from over 20.000+ members, less than 0,25% actually donated something. Imagine if everyone donated 1 dollar...

Whenever the T-Shirt project is available, would you buy one? 2% maybe?

I'd buy a shirt as long as it's soft and comfy.

That money is going towards a performance car. I can only drive a hatch for so long.

What i can say is that ASSEMbler is trying to find the best option that assures a good price for everybody.

Like i said before, only 0,25% of our members helped the recent fundraiser. Just imagine the trouble / whining if the price (with shipping) for a t-shirt is considered not "right" for someone else standards.

Then they can not buy one. While some people can be entitled, I think a lot of us would be willing to drop a little money to represent the site. But you're right, cost can be so subjective.

But we have the BEST theme park. Cedar Point even has a Space Harrier machine!

You just lost your hour in the ball pit for mentioning that.

    I'd buy a shirt though.

With the way this is going why don't we set this up in Atlantis. Close for everyone right? That's what I thought. Atlantis.

The last time we had a meet-up in the UK, a good 10 years or more ago, five members turned up. Five. One travelled for I think 6 hours each way. The likelihood of you getting people in the US to do it is practically zero. A small local meet-up might be doable, but not a convention. They are a pain to run (speaking from experience) and extremely expensive. And there's not enough to do.

Incidentally, that last time was for what I think turned out to be the last gaming trade shows in the UK. And I think that was also the occasion of the first and last public gaming expo. That shows you how viable a large-scale gaming event is, sadly.

    What, EPCOT?!?!

The City Wage Tax disagrees, but Max's King of Steaks makes it break even.

You're letting the floodgates open by saying that.
