Hey peeps, i've got a weird but more of a personal theory here um do some of you guys think R&B type music (if some of you do or not but maybe once heard before) can do well as certain OST music in Jrpgs but of course "Only" instrumentals What are your guys thoughts on this?
Not bad, but I was thinking something more like this: This has the more "Phansty Star Online" sorta type music imo ^_^
Something like this? Didn't a bulk of Persona 3's and 4's soundtrack have an R&B feel to it? I think it could work but it depends on the setting and atmosphere of the game in question. What might work for a modern Japanese setting like Persona won't necessarily work for a medieval fantasy setting like the classic Final Fantasy games.
I think R&B would fit well with an jrpg but that's probably because R&B is one of my favorite music genres.
If it fits the mood right it doesn't matter what genre it is. I always imagine this song working as a start menu for a JRPG:
