Can A USA model 1 Genesis be modded to play PAL games at 60HZ?

I did a region switch with an on-off-on switch fallowing the theory of doing it to a Europe Megadrive and it does indeed play jap usa and europe region games but the Europe games are in 50HZ. When I try to swap the JP1-JP2 lines to low instead of high the game wont boot.

Is it possible to mod the system so it plays Europe games in 60HZ?

Most of the Euro games will probably work in USA 60hz mode. For the ones that have region checks you could try booting in Euro 50hz and then switching to US 60hz?

Use two switches, then. The way people did in the good old days ;) Or just leave the 60hz line alone and switch PAL/NTSC. Did you cut the trace?

Other games are buggy if 50hz/60hz changes while on.

The general rule to follow for this system, is its region can't be changed using the cartridge slot.
A non-modded USA Genesis always runs at 60hz speed, with NTSC color for RF/composite, and loads English text in standard language-detecting games.

If you want 50hz in color, expect to need at least an RGB cable. Few TVs accept "NTSC50" or whatever happens.

Hi Lum. I've tried like 3 PAL region locked games so far and none of them locked up. Not to say you are not right but can you give an example so I can test this.

Also it will indeed be running through RGB.

Not necessarily locking up. Effects like incorrect music speed.
Sonic 2 (even though it isn't region locked) and Sonic 3 act strangely by changing 50hz/60hz.
