Steel Battalion proto with full debug menu, how cool is that. Man that game was cool, thanks for taking a video!

 

I should be able to get my hands on a controller for SB soon (and I will borrow the dev kit from the friend), so more can be shown.

In the meantime, here is another fun filled picture, this time SNES games:

He was close friends with someone at capcom and he hooked him up with a lot of things that were going to be thrown out/recycled.

In other news I was able to locate a steel battalion controller from a local friend, so we will have more footage of that!

 

Today's update is a little short:
Sega Saturn Protos/Samples:

Fighter's Megamix on a Sega Saturn CDR
Center Ring Boxing on a CDR
ThunderStrike 2 Sample/demo (what makes these different? Usually review copies?)
Last Gladiator Pinball Sample/Demo
Virtua Fighter Remix on a Silver Pressed CD (it says Sega on the cdr's outer ring area and works in a retail saturn without a boot disk, what are these?)
Not Pictured : Sega Saturn System Boot Disk for 1st Party games (IE RED)

 

Virtually Fighter silver pressed disc is a pre release copy of the final game, kind of like the white label pre release discs later for the Dreamcast. We're sent out to press and used in kiosk's etc.

 

Center Ring Boxing is indeed the US title for JVC's Victory Boxing, or The King of Boxing as it was known in Japan. As for the Virtua Fighter Remix disc, this is a what Saturn collectors often refer to as a "silver" (final versions of game, usually given to reviewers in a paper sleeve containing return contact information).

Thanks guys! Any ideas on the sample/demos?

 

Sample/demo games could be review samples, containing either full near final/final versions of games, or a small sectioned out portion of the game, similar to what's used in demo discs. That's my guess.

 

Neat stuff. Curious how those Mega Man X protos differ from final. It's so great this guy is sharing with us. I'm going to assume maybe Sega Genesis protos next?
