I just bought a black playstation one off of ebay. All it had was title that said black playstation one. The model number was listed as DTL-3002PAL. It was listed with a really cheap BIN. I didn't ask Q's because if it is a real DTL it would only last seconds at the price it was listed at.

I believe the only black playstation one's were DTL systems. Were there any regular release black systems? It just seems strange that this person has a DTL and doesn't know what it is. The person sent me a note after I bought it and said he would through in some games with it. Even if it isn't a DTL system it is still an ok price for a playstation with a couple of games.

Ebay seems strange. It is listing several systems as DTL-3002 that are clearly not DTL systems. Most of them also have the color as black even though the picture clearly shows a grey system.

The Net Yaroze system was black-ish.

That's Net Yaroze isn't it? But the model number brought up one result on google, might be something special.

The DTL-3002 is the black debugging model. The PAL just means it is the Euro model. I sent an e-mail asking the color and model number. Waiting reply.

That model number says its a PAL Yaroze unit. They I believe play imports/all regions, but not CD-Rs.

    Yup, MottZilla is right.
The only Black playstation was the Net Yaroze, for which there were 3 models:
    DTL-H3000 - Japan (NTSC)
    DTL-H3001 - US/Canada (NTSC)
    DTL-H3002 - Europe (PAL)

The actual model number for the console itself should be: DTL-H3002, and yes, it will play any region, but no CD-R (not without a modchip or swap method).

There was also a limited 1 million edition, which was dark blue, and could have looked like black, but these are even more rare than the Yaroze and I highly doubt they will fall in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they are.

PS: I saw the auction and was surprised to see it went for so little and so quickly... Now I know why :p
I really hope it's the Net Yaroze!

God dammit. I have been searching eBay for 5 years for 'black playstation 1' for some guy who does not know what the console is at a cheap price, and you found it.

    Congratulations :crying:

In particular, a Yaroze under the title 'black playstation 1' by a seller who does not know that it is a development system.

I have no interest in the men in black edition.

There is a ten million edition on eBay at the moment. There was actually one that just went in Sydney Australia. I do not think it sold however.

I got mine for $15 on ebay recently, and my friend bought one for $15 and another for $25 because it had 2 controllers and the cable. All 3, my one and his 2, were from the same seller. Only reason I only bought one was because I also bought a single lot 12 yaroze controllers from that seller, and by the time I found out there were more available it was too late, they sold quick, and also some asshole put a $10 bid on one that had a BIN price of $15, then when it finished it went for $80  All of them were DTL-H3001

I was lucky though, Mine came with an access card and startup disc, no controllers or cables but I eventually ended up with way more of those to complete about 5 setups :)

Also, when we bought ours, they werent listed as "net yaroze" or any other mention of development. There wasnt even a mention of the color, it was just the pictures showing the yaroze ps1.

I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you, after all, you've already got 17 PlayStations *cough*

Well, I am now waiting to see if it really is one. She said it comes with all the wires one controller and Driver 2. After I paid there was a comment that she said she had a few more games she would include.

Still waiting on the e-mail on the exact color and model number.

    Edit:
This seems really odd to me and what really has me concerned. All these auctions list the system as a DTL-3002. Clearly none of them are. Is this ebay messing up or are there really four different sellers at the same time not knowing what they are doing.

It's probably ebay's fault. It always appears in some generated field when they list the item.
