Battlefront 3 Leak

Apparently someone on Reddit found a 360 dev kit that has a prototype of the original Star Wars Battlefront 3. He posted some video a couple places, but it might be taken down.

Still, it looks pretty good for an early 360 game, too bad Lucasarts canned it.

 

old news. but i still wish it was not canned. i prefer it than the new EA BF

 

The thread is for discussing the release and the game itself. Whether it falls into your definition of "old" or not is irrelevant.

My bad, I didn't realize there was a link to dl in the reddit post. This was the first I had heard of a version of the game being out of Free Radical and/or Pandemic's hands.

Link in the reddit thread was removed to allow it to stay up. Moderators deemed it piracy and/or copyrighted material (and it is). The links aren't on the thread on reddit so that link is okay unless someone says it's not.

 

Well I unlinked the reddit thread to be safe. I mean, it's not like it's hard to find, but still.

 

Remember Free Radical was notorious for stuffing their games with tons of content. Timesplitters Future Perfect is a "perfect" example. If the DLC route was available as heavy then as it is right now I think the third Battlefront would have been quite different. I know deadlines exist but who knows how much content BFIII would have had if released. I guess there is somebody who'd know haha.

You can't link to the files. If another web site links to it, you can link to that site. But never directly to the files.

 

Even though this build is quite unfinished and to quote Borman "
The build is 8 to 9 months before it was canned, which leaves it at least 15 to possibly 24 months before the game would have come out." the main menu prominently shows dedicated "downloadable content" option ! So yeah I guess you're making a correct assumption

 

If you visit the reddit thread via the Wayback Machine, you can find the link. Otherwise, I've got the file (as I'm sure many of us already do) just in case it needs a re-upload at some point.

 

While it may seem a bit odd to focus on this aspect of it; the name of the leaker has my attention most. The coverage in articles and videos is showing a clear 50/50 divide on typing or speaking the name.

It looks to be either on of the following
- say the name followed by quoting them with the apology given by the poster
- don't say the name at all even if quoting them

Not wanting to derail this but I have noticed a great split in this and I think it's proving to be a big challenge for the people covering this.

To what I know this has been posted to more than just Reddit but that's a nice tip.

 

It was first posted on 4chan and can be very easily found by googlin the posters username.
Post has links to a direct download on mega and a torrent.

 

I saw it pop up yesterday on blackcat games

 

I'm still bothered that i cant get an account there.

That was one hell of a shitstorm
