God I haven't been on 4Chan in the longest time. Wasn't /k/ for battle stations? Or was it somewhere else? I gave up on that site because I could never get the way people talked and acted there. Yeah, for some it's funny, but I just couldn't get used to it. Lastly, before I go back on topic, can you imagine how much power is being sucked up by all those CRT's?!?!?!?
lol you guys are exagerating, no? I don't care and sometimes I (try to) browse from the Saturn's PlanetWeb. Sometimes I use my Win95 machine, and the Windows 2000 machine, and the Windows Millenium machine, and even my Windows Mobile (6) and it's not that bad. It's kind of fun to try the different Internet Explorer generations if you ask me. (= * Very very nice setup that one with all those CRTs!!! That must be so fun!!!!!!
The site does seem to load slower and not everyone uses a HDTV display, my netbooks is only 1024x600 and there is a lot of white space then previously, my mouse scroll wheel is going to prematurely wear out. Thankfully I have turned signatures off otherwise I would be hear all day reading a single page.
It's not the avatars it's just the post count images, and actually the pac-man ones I've got are the right size, just look at Bad_Ad84's post and they line up perfectly.
But I think your avatar is too big and does not help matters any. ASSEMbler had a guideline for avatars before, and I think it helped to keep them at a reasonable size, but that seems to have stoped now.
Guidelines arent even needed, you can set a limit in the options from the admin control panel. These seem to have been disabled recently
I have them adblocked so I can't see them. Your post however has excessive white space due to 1. huge avatar, 2. signature starting after the avatar block. If the second one was fixed, it would reduce your post height by 1/3. Halve the avatar height, and your post+av+sig would line up perfectly. (then we have the problem of huge signatures) ALSO YOUR AVATAR IS SEXIST AND NOT SAFE FOR WORK BECAUSE IT SHOWS HALF A MIDRIFF AND A NAKED NECK-LINE you should change it (j/k)
I figure if it takes as long as "next week" tapatalk - its never going to be fixed. So I just went with adblock + stylish. Its a good job I like posting here - else I just wouldn't have bothered and stopped.
Nowadays? Convert all post-count images into ones like mine (1000 & 1500 post?) But never remove the original 5000 count one. It is too ultimate. What is that from, anyway?
Personally I think that the postcount images are completely pointless. On an old forum I ran, I purposefully changed the post count indicator to say "e-penis size" just because of that: it serves no other purpose, but to wave a dick flag. Also, I've offered a bunch of times to fix any/all skin related issues, and submitted a handful of solutions for any problems too, but never got a reply...
You wont... I offered to repair several items assembler had turn up damaged, that he had been waiting "years for" and didn't even get so much as a "thanks but no thanks".
A run off from a WoW forum i used had a pretty cool post count system. Every 1k posts added on an = to 8=3 That would be /g/ (technology), although a guy from /k/(weapons/guns) does post his battlestation occasionally, littered with guns.
Wanna talk about size of posts? Check my screen shot. My craptastic lappy runs at 1366x 768 and this is what I get from the post above mine: Notice that the post count and avatar images are small but yet it still takes up the whole screen. If it were fixed so that the sig were to start at the end of the post it would cut down on a lot of space. Hope SOMEONE on staff here gets the hint from all of us "whining". I bet my post is still rather huge despite having an avatar that is like 160 x 160 pixels. May need to reduce that.
None of us on the staff can fix the issue. Only ASSEMbler can do that. I'm with you guys on the massive white spaces. While it doesn't really bother me it does look a mess and really needs fixing. I also feel many people's sigs and avatars are way too big including my own which is why I resized my avatar. Yakumo
Skin editing requires admin cp access, and beyond that it requires permissions to edit the styles section (it's under Usergroups -> administrator permissions). Assembler could set that up for anyone, and it's possible to set up admin permissions so a user ONLY has access to a given section in the admin cp, and nothing else.
