I know it's a tall order but if someone can get JF:G to work...surely they can for BT! Can someone do it and complete the N64 library once and for all for us?
The person that "got JFG to work" was an old N64 release group that cracked the game. They never cracked Banjo Tooie. Getting it to work would be more likely if it is emulated with the recent CIC algorithm that was figured out. If the ED64 hardware can do it that would be.
Supposedly someone is working on getting to work on the 64drive, which hasn't been released yet. It's possible the hack for that cart may work for the ED, who knows?
