I'm assuming quite a few members here are already rocking the NESRGB. I'm on the fence.

If you already have an xrgb I would just get an rgb mod.

I want to keep the RGB for light gun, but can't tell you the last time I played a light gun game on nes.

Already have an nes rgb modded console. I have the vid equipment to go to hdmi. But there is something to be said about getting straight digital video video from the console. Like the n64 hdmi. IDK.

If I went hdmi, I'd sell my nesrgb kit. I think the kit is going to be around 130.

I wonder if I could push the nes hdmi to my vp50 pro, and output via RGB to my PVM...I wonder if a light gun would work going through that...

For $130 I am a bit on the "no" side.

Even at $130, I'm going to bite for one just to try it out.

I just wish I could have both the HighDef NES and NESRGB kits on the same console. At this point, I either pull out the NESRGB on my toploader (waste of work) or buy another toploader and sell off the first RGB console. My concern is that I'm not going to be the only one selling a NESRGB console after the general availability of the HighDef NES...

The thing that makes me say no is they are not giving any warranty unless one of their installers installs it for you.

    $130, no warranty.

See, if you ask me it's a miraculous level of customer service that they even have installers. For most mods you have to go begging around the internet hat-in-hand to find an installer, if you're not an electronics wizard yourself.
I'll absolutely be ordering one, I'll be glad to get my NES off of the Framemeister and composite switch.

Also, @subbie - they don't have it working on the FC Twin yet. Only NES, New NES, and AV Famicom.

Spent a LOT of $$$ on RGB so I won't be, and quality is indifferent to me.

I wouldn't say that. This is going to produce a better image/signal since it comes straight from the chip and not going through a few conversion processes.

Thanks for the info. I think I maybe still want to get one. The price is high but I fear they will sell out quick and will be a while before restock happens.

For those who are on the fence or turned off by the lack of warranty for self installation, perhaps it's better to sit out the first batch. It sounded like they are going to revise the board by extending the HDMI jack by few millimeter out on the next batch anyway. Might as well wait for feedback from 1st batch self-installers and hope any unforeseen kinks if any, get resolved on the subsequent revision(s).

I am not as interested in the HDMI mod as I am just the analog RGB mod. Maybe with people "upgrading" I might be able to get a console with RGB.

Holy sh*t the site was flooded with traffic, it was horrible,,, It kept going down and I had to keep refreshing the page. It took and hour before I could even connect well enough to add one to cart and another 2 refreshing checkout so I could pay, but I got one.
It was like dial up and someone knocked me off the modem talking on the phone.
