An interesting mod I did for PC emulators that is easy to copy.

OK. Let's get something straight right off the bat. Been forever since I've come here. I got pissed at some members here because of how they were treating me. Still mad and probably won't be coming back often. If these members give me a problem again then I'm gone for good. If a mod or admin thinks that I'm being a jerk then by all means delete this thread and permaban me. I don't care anymore. Just came to share a mod (or more likely "hack") I did for console emulators on a PC. Here's a video of it. Video description has all the details needed to copy this yourself. Got featured on Hackaday.

Now I'm gone. Don't expect replies to questions as I probably won't be back to do so. If you like this, cool. If you don't and give me crap over it, whatever. I have a community I'm part of and highly respected in. Bronies are more understanding and respectful from what I've seen. I'm known as Chaotic Mind to bronies and I'm signing off. Good day to all.

You sure reply pertty fast for someone who "probably won't be back to do so".

Anyways, the "mod"... I like the idea of using an U3 drive to get autorun (or rather get it back, but whatever...), but other than that I find it kinda 'meh'. Mostly because all it does is start the emu and you still have to do some busywork (reach for keyboard/mouse, browse for roms) to get going... Maybe it could go into some nice fullscreen launcher/game selector when plugged in?

But when I click "View Post" nothing changes and I still can't see the post. Maybe because I have java script blocked in my browser ... oh well, it can't be helped then I guess.

Autorun was disabled for a reason you know... and it should stay disabled. So what you did is definitely not what one would call impressive.

But at least it requires a hardware mod, so it won't be immediately used by every goddamn virus that exists.

Sonicdude10, I'm sorry to hear that you won't be visiting Assembler Games much, as you've made some good posts, and of course you told me how to add an external reset switch to my N64 (which is great, as I can reset the N64 from my seat now, even though the N64 is on the other side of the room - by resetting the N64 it (via the Everdrive 64) goes back to the main ED64 game load menu, and also saves the game saves to the SD card). I don't know the ins and outs of your situation, but if anyone is persecuting you, then if you leave then they'll feel like they've won. Instead you should stay (or go, but only if you're genuinely un-interested in Assembler Games' forums any more) and ignore him/them. If you do that, then they'll either get bored with you not responding and then they'll move on to someone else, or they'll raise their persecution to such a level that the mods will have to take action against them.

The internet has lots of trolls, it's the price we pay for freedom of speech and internet anonymity. They are actually very much the tiny minority, but they make themselves heard far louder than 99% of the legitimate posters, which is why troll-ish behaviour can seem so prevailant even when it's really not.

Anyway mate, it's up to you, and whatever you decide, we (the non-trolls, who appreciate your contributions to this site) wish you all the best now and in the future.

    Its hardly being persecuted.

Sonic thinks his mods are good, submits them to HAD, posts them here like that means something.

People here have a much higher bar of "good" - people question his mod, offer suggestions, what ever - he throws a hissy fit and takes it all personally. Most people here do better mods than the stuff hes posted on HAD and dont even bother to write it up.

This whole, "im leaving blah blah" has happened before already.

My advice is grow up, the worlds a tough place.

Oh, I'm not making any judgements (either way), as I know nothing of the circumstances of this dispute, just that I don't think that someone should leave a forum if they like it (well, unless they get banned, but he's obviously not been, so I think he should stay or go according to his own wishes).

I do sometimes wish that when someone made a post on the internet, then they had to retype and re-post the identical message again, and only the second post would be sent to the forum server. The internet is full of things that are posted in heat or anger, and having to retype the message would stop much of that.

I was once told that if you annoyed with someone on the internet, and feel like posting a scathing/sarcastic/even offensive post, then the best thing to do is to type out that post. Make it as offensive as you like, go into detail about why they are wrong, and (If you choose) how you can't believe how stupid/biased/brainwashed/etc the other person is. Really go to town on it. Then when you've finished, delete the post, don't send it.

And then, if you still want to post then type a reply, and post it. Because by then you're over the anger/frustration/stupidity (yours or theirs - I do get angry sometimes when I shouldn't, especially if work or whatever is really getting to me, and in the past I have posted replies that I wouldn't have done if I'd have been calmer) etc. And it really does work, at least for me. Half or most of the time I don't bother typing a second response, I just think something like "I'm not going to convince him that he's wrong, so why bother posting a response just to keep the argument going?", and when I do make a post it's always much calmer and less offensive than the childish/I'm-much-cleverer-than-you-are/you're-just-a-fanboy-sheep/etc drive that I'd heaped into the first response (that I didn't post).

I don't know the history of how this guy was "persecuted" here but from his post it looks like self persecution. His mod contains nothing that hasn't been done many times by many people many years ago. If he was expecting a response more positive than "meh" he has unreasonable expectations.
