About dumping the N64 test carts

    It should be common knowledge by now that the N64 test diagnostic carts aren't dumpable by the usual means. Anyone have an idea how to set up a probe or intercept on the port to read what's going on?

    Most likely culprits are either a weird/nonexistant CIC or different PI access. Even if a full dump isn't possible, getting the bootstrap should be enough data to code something for one of the more common aproaches.

    That's because the test cart is part of a probe. It would be like trying to dump a Z64 with another Z64

    I took one of those test carts apart once and the CIC was a 6102, which is about as standard as you can get. It did have another chip that looked like a FPGA complete with some (unpopulated) pads that looked like they were for a JTAG adapter. I also took some high-res photos of the board, which I probably still have somewhere.
