Hi folks, I just noticed 64DD.net closed down:
[h=2]64DD.net has closed. Thanks for the good time and farewell![/h]Anyone know what happened? I used to go there every time to time for very interesting reads, but have never been an active member. I went today to have a look and found that it has closed. Was this recent/long ago?

Sorry if this is really old news u_u , haven't been very active in the gaming interwebz lately.

    Hmm, it's a shame.

The other message that appears down below makes no sense:

"Nintendo consoles have long offered some of the best gaming experiences. Modern gamers can now enjoy anything from arcade to strategy, and now even casino games like the ones shown here. Other players are taking their skills from opponent-based games and putting them to good use at the virtual poker tables. Have a look at our range of N64/64DD games below."

I've seen stuff like that before, my guess is that to try a generate a bit of cash, they 'sell' links to gambling sites.

That makes sense. I'm sure there are still people attempting to visit the site, so they're trying to parlay that into some money. While I understand how it could work, I'm not sure how many people will go to these sites. It just seems a bit too on-the-nose for people who actively follow such a niche video game peripheral.

Yeah, I know it is for that, but I meant it made no sense because I seriously would not expect that coming from them.

    I saw that last week.
What a shame. They had an excellent database. For almost all N64 games. Nice information. Very organized. Comparable to Setakore. Not that hardcore but obviously someone put some heart and time on that site.
But the site was abandoned for years. The most active thing was the 64DD serial number thread... =/
