Got my XRGB Mini today, thanks a lot Mark! :)

Quick (and probably dumb) question: Can I use it here in Europe without step down? On the power supply it says 100-240V.. so I assume it is okay? The reason I'm hesitating is that I've read somewhere that some uses step downs for whatever reason..

Yes, you can use the supplied PSU just fine in Europe. Just use a simple socket adapter form the Japanese / Us two prong style to the type used in your country.

Originally the Framemeister came with only a 110volt adapter however they started to change to the 100 to 240 volt adapters about 1 year ago.

Random question, but has anyone tried turning on the scan line function on a modern LED TV and testing an old school light gun? I'm wondering if it's a potential workaround for using the light gun on modern TVs. I apologize if this has been asked and answered here - I read through most of the thread and didn't see anything, but it's possible I just missed it.

Wouldn't work. Modern TVs capture the entire frame, some more than one, in a buffer before sending it out to the panel all at once. CRTs worked on a raster scan that drew the frames a line at a time as it was was coming in. By the time you see the picture that you are shooting at on a modern tv, the console is too far past it. It's like shooting at the past.

Great, thank you for the information! Makes justifying a Snatcher purchase at the ridiculous price even more difficult.

Does anyone know what the new firmware does? Any significant feature or bug fixes? Are they easy/foolproof to install?

Maybe if someone who can read Japanese can summarize, we'll have a better idea if the update is important or just simple stuff (like localization to other languages, etc).

    According to
    http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?p=1157722&sid=94a3ff3881bd71a3767214c9962cd6a3#p1157722

    rough translation of what's new:
    - In SD resolution, solved an issue where the left and right edge of the screen might be cut off.
    - Adjusted filter setting when screen is in "x2" mode.

    Oh how tempting this is, such a great device but I don't know if I want to spend $350 USD on this ;_;

Hey Yakumo, I'm going to visit Japan (Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo) from next saturday for 2 weeks.
Is there any possibilty to buy it directly from you (plus the Component / Terminal-D) ?
    Cheers,

Sure but I don't live anywhere near Osaka or Tokyo so I'd have to ship it to you. The price will be a bit cheaper too. Send me a PM to where you'll be staying and I can quote you a price.

New XRGBMini firmware is available (ver 2.03a which is a quick fix on 2.03 of a week earlier).

It seems they added a bunch of options to direct condition Composite/SVideo signal, plus support for YCbCr on RGB
    Link via google translate:

    https://translate.google.com/transl...://www.micomsoft.co.jp/xrgb-mini_download.htm

Attention that it seems they changed a little the behavior wrt scanlines:

    http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?p=1188805#p1188805

I installed it but hadn't had the time to test anything .... they claim improved HDMI sync as well I wonder if it fixes a little the 240p/480i resync issue (that made many Saturn late games borderline unplayable) .... anyone cares to confirm?
