You don't set up the XDK to use the internet (like xbox live or anything). You just need to hook it up via ethernet and run the 360 Neighborhood...
I was not aware of this. How would you downgrade an XDK? And are you talking about the side with the retail dash?
If your talking about the 360 XDK I would just leave it where it is. At least that's what I do. I don't see the need to fix what isn't broken.
