It's pretty useless other than being able to play games that will only run on the Alpha kits, so that makes it worth it. But there's not much out...
I'm pretty sure I grabbed a an 80gb hdd at one point and it worked fine also. I'm not sure it checks hdd size at all. I forget. I lost a bunch...
After 1000+ xbox mod installs I've still never seen a 1.5 and I still don't believe it's real. Still think it was just a manufacturer defect :|

To get around all of the annoying errors with xbox neighborhood I just use the command line tools that are provided with the XDK to transfer...

They do boot if you set the bitsetting, this was very popular for a month until everyone gave up trying to exploit it when these dvds were released.
