      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I stumbled trough some of the forum sections. I read a lot of information, of which some likely is wrong.<br />
The idea is to use a retail xbox board as replacement chihiro board. So, to my knowledge, the differences are:<br />
<br />
MCPX 2 versus MCPX 3.<br />
128MB ram versus 64MB ram.<br />
512KB flash versus 1MB flash or 256KB flash.<br />
EEPROM contents.<br />
PIC reboot (frag) challenge.<br />
Conexant video chip versus conexant, focus or excalibur.<br />

I read somewhere in these forums that it&#039;s possible to reflash a debug board...<br />

I&#039;ll call them &quot;1.1&quot; and &quot;1.3&quot; since they look very similar to the retail xbox 1.1 and 1.3 boards (see the <a href="http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?50106-Type-3-Pictures" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow">pictures</a> thread). Also, will a type 1 boot without the top DIMM attached? I know a Type 3 won&#039;t boot if you remove the Media/DIMM board - I tried it.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Last night I was putting a Chihiro system out on placement. I&#039;d previously had no time to have a look at the internals as I knew they worked perfectly. <br />

So, as the tail gate van got caught in traffic before it arrived, I decided to use the 10 or 15mins to gut a Chihiro for the first time. <br />
<br />
Anyone familiar with the arcade unit will know that it&#039;s actually a firmware updated Xbox Debug motherboard attached to a couple of custom PCBs. <br />
<br />
However, it&#039;s a very expensive Xbox unit! Sorry if some...<br />
