Retro Gamer article on ASSEMblergames.com

http://retrogamer.net/forum/viewtopi...t=4097&start=0

Posting this from an internet cafe since I've quit my job (to go to another job at a better publisher). Also, apologies about not being able to put scans up.

I posted a free copy to ASSEMbler, the day before I left, sadly I couldn't get any others sent out.

If anyone has the issue, feel free to scan the Illuminati article, and post it here. Everyone whose screens I used, was credited in the captions.

I hope you're all happy with it.

Nice article. Will the next part be printed as planned (even if you have change magazine)? Will miss you texts in RG. Is it official where you gonna write now?

Got the magazine the other and day liked it.

Thought I feelt it was a bit much of Indiana Jones and conspiracy dramatization in the beginning. Sure I know it's a legal minefield and there do exist some fanatic fanboys out there, but still I could do without the Indiana Jones part. :)

But all in all it was a nice article and it was definitely worth the money, to bad it's split up into two issues. I hope I'll be able to get the second issue when it's out too. :)

(I hope I didn't offend someone with my thoughts.. sorry if I did)

Just finished reading the article, interesting read, enjoyed reading a printed article on systems such as the SNES CD-ROM or M2 and not wainting to with the amount of mistakes they made.

First time I have brought this magazine will take a look through the rest later and will certainly buy the next issue for the 2nd part of the article.

I can get it scanned in and made into a PDF if anyone wants?

Yup, part 2 will be in the next issue. I saw the final design the day I left.

As for me, I've retired from games journalism. The new place I'm working at is totally unrelated to games, and though they said I can freelance for games mags, I'm just not interested anymore. The games mag industry is not a pleasant place and the wages are too low, hence my leaving. Besides, I've written my magnum opus, it's time to end on a high (actually, my magnum opus may have been the Shinobi 3 article in the Street Fighter issue, pg 50).

Please feel free to put scans of this up (the Shinobi article too, if you're that way inclined).

Thank you everyone for your help over the past couple of years, it's been a pleasure, and I hope I've portrayed this community in a way which pleases it.

I bought the magazine a couple of days ago, and read it today. I thought the article was quite informative and well-written. I look forward to the second part

Aha, sorry, missed that. Or did you mean Johns "original" article in Escapism (not exactly the same, and without pics :

http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7785

However, hope someone who donīt have read the article enjoy the scans and I looking forward to read part 2 .

great article, altho i guess it glorifies the "underground life or death risk" a little too much, makes for an interesting read anyways, felt like i was gonna go to jail just for reading it ;)

The next issue (#35), with part 2, is out now. It has Contra on the cover.

http://www.imagineshop.co.uk/item_sh...96&action=home

Also, could a moderator please PM with ASSEMbler's postal address? I posted him the first issue, and I don't know if he received it, and then I lost his address, meaning I can't post him the second issue.

Btw, I can't post anyone else an issue, since I quit my job on the mag and can't get free copies anymore.

If you didn't see your name or image in the first article, chances are it's in the second part.
